Image Search

Event searches can be performed by date and time using the video management system which is integrated into every MOBOTIX camera. It makes no difference whether the image data is stored in the internal ring buffer of the camera or in the external ring buffer on a PC or server. The camera displays the event which occurs closest to the specified time. As it uses the binary search algorithm, the search time is very short, even in the case of external storage, and only takes a few seconds. Searches can also be conducted efficiently with access via a low-speed connection because it is the camera, and not the browser, that calculates the number of hits.

Event Archive Download

The results of the image search, i.e. certain recorded video sequences, can be downloaded from the camera to a local PC via the browser by means of a download link in the query window. This is done in the form of an archive file (Tar, WinZip, Stuffit, Powerarchiver). The MOBOTIX cameras additionally generate an HTML index file and enclose it in the archive file. This file facilitates a simple image sequence playback via the browser later on.

Saved as an archive file, the recorded image sequences can also be conveniently sent to other users by e-mail or burnt onto a CD. They can then view the images via the browser, without any need to have any special plugins installed. Since the images are available as JPEG files, they can also be edited with other standard programs afterwards. Nevertheless, the authenticity of the archived original images remains guaranteed.

Just as alarm sequences can be saved and be passed on simultaneously with MOBOTIX cameras, several users can also conduct an image search simultaneously.
